Who needs climbing gear when you have a dress that will work perfectly well?

This was a picture Scott took the other day when we were at County Farm Park. We had run some errands after church and the kids were getting restless, so we told them we could stop at the park when we were done. Kaleigh obviously didn't have her clothes changed from after church, but that didn't stop her from some rock climbing. She was able to scale that whole wall all by herself (with some spotting from us). I thought it was pretty impressive especially in a dress and dress shoes.

Tonight Avery goes to her Kindergarten round-up. I almost forgot about it with everything else going on... poor middle child syndrome. The fact that we had it meant I had to add another item to my agenda today, which was going downtown to retrieve birth certificates from the county. Luckily we got there just before the big line of people came in, and we were in and out in only about 15 minutes, and I combined it with another errand I had to run to retrieve fabrics from a client who works just across the street, so it worked out perfect. Gotta love it.

Well I better go things are going to start getting busy again soon here, Quinn will be home, eat dinner, go to Aunie Ems (Q&K), Avery to round-up, Scott and kids to finish tables, me to clients at 7ish....the list continues... Have a good night all. Oh, and Happy Birthday Merle! 92 WOW!

Spring Weekend

Grammy and Quinn Gardening... and the Red Shirt Guys!

Kaleigh had enough of the shopping for a router bit...

Spring in Grammys flowerbeds. Quinn got it in his head that he wanted to "grow" something. So Grammy dug out some flower seeds and they got started in some of her flower beds and out in the back in the ditch on Friday. We stopped over Friday night to have the girls hair trimmed. Kaleigh would not hold still to say the least and her hair ended up a little shorter than expected, but it finally turned out ok. No emergency hair dresser trips the week before the wedding. Saturday was spent first at work, then at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears and the mall looking for a router bit Scott needed to refinish the dining room table he is working on. After he found one we worked on finding something to wear for the rehersal dinner, and then another trip to Grammy and Grampys to try out the router bit before heading to dinner and home. It is a busy week ahead, work at Hallmark, work for clients, school, study sessions for Avery, preparation and list making for the wedding, dentist appt. and finally the trip to the west side for the wedding. I am hoping I don't forget anything. Lists, lists, lists...keep me organized :) please!

Jump the Stump and Cub Scouts

Jumping from the Stump. Who knew that could be so much fun. The girls and I had some fun playing at the playground at Quinns school this evening while Quinn and Scott went to their Cub Scout information meeting. Scott just got back from being in Texas and Mexico for three days and promptly headed to that meeting (missing choir to his dismay). Looks like Quinn will most likely be a Tiger Cub scout come the fall, we aren't sure how to choose a pack, but some of his friends are interested in joining up too, so we'll probably all end up in the same one. I am not too familiar with the Cub/Boy Scout thing, but it seems to be a pretty good thing I think. I remember being a brownie, and doing some fun stuff, I don't know if it's sort of the same though. Avery will be in for that soon too I'm sure.
After the meeting, Scott was off again... he has a scheduled sleep study tonight to see if he has sleep apnea and or restless leg syndrome. How anyone could sleep with someone watching and monitoring you with 10 bizillion wires is beyond me, but I guess they figure stuff out.
In other news, Kaleigh had a great time playing with GG this afternoon while I was helping out in Quinns class, and Avery was at school. She couldn't wait to get there, and kept telling Quinn and Avery this morning, "I'm going to GG's today" I meant to take my camera along and get some pictures, and left it in the car... urgh!! Same goes for this evening when the girls were jumping off the stump in front of Quinns school. They must have done that for 20 minutes, running from one to the other and jumping from the stump to the sidewalk. I did get a picture on the cell phone, but the quality is really bad. I am going to try and post it anyway, we'll see. Have a good evening all!

Sing... Sing a Song

Tonight was Quinn's Spring Concert and Art Show. He got all dressed up and was quite handsome. He wasn't really nervous, and not really too excited either, but he jabbered on and on about all the songs they were going to sing and after the concert gave us a tour of the school. We didn't get to see any of his art class artwork on display and he gave us the story behind that too, "I'm still working on that one" was the answer to not seeing his artwork with the other kids. It was a nice evening, and the kids were excited that there was a trip to Dairy Queen after the festivities.

Cameras gone AWOL and Sundays with Revolutionaries

So, my camera has gone AWOL, the last time I recall using it was last Saturday outside while the kids played their first game of backyard baseball of the season. From there, I have no idea what has happened to it. Mom and Scott made their usual comments about how bad I am about keeping glasses and cameras... I am most upset that there were pictures on it that were cute, that I can't get out of it obviously. Meanwhile I have had to use the other camera, which is great if you're outside, but not so great inside (still haven't looked at the manual to figure out why... maybe I should do that).
Anyway, we had a nice weekend. Since Emily came down with strep throat, and we weren't able to head to the West Side for the bachelorette party, Grammy offered to have the kids for a sleepover on Friday night so that Scott and I could have a night out. We had a great time even though he was a little sick too, first we headed to dinner, then to Hill Auditorium to see the Uof M Chamber Choir perform. It was pretty good, although the songs they sang were a little bit like classical "pop" music, meaning that they were nicely arranged songs, and well performed, but the content of the songs were all a bit ditsy. From there we decided to head to Borders for a few minutes before heading to the dollar show to see the National Treasure movie. It was a good show for a buck, even though it was cheesy and predictable. Hey there were no kids involved, so we were happy to just sit there. Saturday the kids returned and we headed to the Natural History Museum for something to do because it was cold and rainy. They had a good time, and we had to get a t-shirt, not because we needed the souvenier but because Quinn fell into the urinal trying to flush it and soaked his other shirt... lovely. After lunch it was home to watch the Red Wings and give Scott a nap, then a trip to Brighton for dinner. It was a great non-cooking weekend for me.
Sunday was more of the same, with a trip to Grammy and Grampys to ready Averys dress for the wedding, and the kids had fun adventuring with Ella outside... and as Mom reported 5 minute checks to see if they could float the boats. Sunday night was spent cleaning up and watching John Adams on HBO. I am in the process of reading the book, and both the mini series and the book are excellent. If you have HBO or access to the book I highly recommend them. That is about it from me, hope you all have a good week.

Shady Smudgie

Krazy Kaleigh in Shades. She put these glasses on today and I thought she just looked too funny so I had to take her out for some pictures. I am trying out a new camera that Scott got a deal on, I like it for outside shots, but inside it makes everything grainy. I think I better read up on it a little more or send it back.

Update

Just an update on Gary and Devin. Gary got out of the hospital last night and other than having to take about 6 prescriptions and no heavy lifting or hard labor, got the go ahead to go home. Devin is continuing his inpatient physical and occupational therapy, as well as school classes at the hospital as well. They think he will be able to go home in a week or two, he should make a full recovery, it is just a matter of retraining the connections to the left side of his brain. Thank you again for all of the prayers, and please keep praying for patience and that they are able to work out the rest of their recoveries!

I don't have many pictures, as I have been fighting a nasty cold for the last two days, and the kids have been doing not much more than tearing up the house, but I've posted some others from Easter that I didn't get to the other day.
