Happy Birthday Avy Savvy McC

Avery had a big day today. It was her 5th birthday and we celebrated with a party with family and friends. Thanks to Auntie Em for offering up their house for the party after the mosquitoes took over at Mom and Dads. It was a great time and she is very blessed to have so many great people around her. Before the party was the other part of her big day, she had her Safety Town graduation. Grammy was nice enough to come and join the festivities. I think she is all ready for Kindergarten now, and I know she is ready for the dance class she is going to be taking thanks to Grammy and Grampy and Mom and Dad... I should have taken pictures, but she tried on her shoes later in the evening and Ella was giving her lessons... it was too funny! Oh well, here are some other pictures from the day!

Why not to drink Lemuned from a 6yr olds Lemuned Stand
The story of the lemuned stand. The kids really wanted to run a lemonade stand while we were having our garage sale this weekend, so I made a batch, got out some disposable cups and let them have at it. They didn't have too many customers, but there were a few who took them up on their quarter cup of lemon goodness... Well at some point in the day they had taken a break and come back to start selling again when we noticed that they had grabbed real cups from the house. Just as we noticed this there was a man who came up and bought a cup. Not a big deal except for the fact that #1 who knew if the kids had been drinking out of those cups the whole afternoon and #2 we found out later that they had decided to make their own batch of lemonade... needless to say it was a little sour. Oh well... the man never said anything, and that is a good reason not to drink the lemonade you buy from 6 year olds.
A Week Behind

I am a week behind on posting. We had a garage sale Fri and Sat and I have been knee deep in junk for a week. But it was pretty successful and I think I am getting at least a little closer to being caught up.
Last Sunday was the celebration for Ellas 6th bday. We had a great meal at Em and Bobs and there was some great desserts and some crazy volleyball. Scott put his all into it as you can see from the pictures... Hard to believe that it has been 6 years! Happy Birthday Ella!

The 4th of July, McClelland Style

The McClellands sure can do up the 4th of July. There were barbeque ribs, potato salad, tons of deserts and anything else you can think of that make up a great meal! The kids all had a great time with all of their McClelland cousins, and we even got the ones that were there to sit down for a picture. We were only missing a few. There were a couple of the kids sitting on the steps to the porch and it reminded me of the picture of the older generation of cousins, so we gathered the rest of the kids to join the few that were already there, and captured some fourth of July history. I will post the rest of the pictures as a slide show...

Vacation Number 1

I'll need a vacation from my vacation when I get back. We have been here there and everywhere and are now in Bay City for the McClelland Family reunion. We started our trip with a visit to Uncle Andys and Aunt Christies on Friday. We unfortunately didn't get much time to visit with Uncle Andy, as we got stuck in traffic and Quinn had to pee about 60 times along the way (ok, so that is a little exaggerated). Any way we got there, had some fun visiting and playing with Winston before heading to bed. Andy was gone before we got up, but we had a nice time visiting with Christie. After breakfast it was off to Onekama to stay with Aunt Mary, Uncle Mark and Matt. We had fun even though the weather was a little cold. The kids played on the beach, we headed to Frankfort one day and played on the dunes, and made a visit to Point Betsie. Scott did a fantastic job cooking our meals, we saw some great sunsets, and Scott and I got the chance to tool around Bear Lake and drive some golf balls thanks to Aunt Mary and Uncle Mark. I know we did lots of other stuff, but my memory is foggy on me right now.

Since we've been in Bay City we have... had some great meals, been to the beach and the splash park, gotten a manicure and pedicure (now that is vacation!), been golfing, been to see WALL-E, been to the Bay City Fireworks festival, made crafts, got new tires on the van, and tonight we were supposed to go see the Midland Loons play baseball with a fireworks show afterwards, but since they got rained out last night and tonight now would be a double header we have decided to stay home and watch fireworks out behind Scott's Dad's house. Whew! Just writing that has made me tired. Tomorrow is the official family reunion, and Grandpa and Grandma have got a fleet of pools, bouncy things and various other toys out to play with!
