A Day at the Park

We made a trip to the park for lunch today with some friends, and the kids had a great time. I know that I have been neglecting my blogging of late, so I thought I better post about what at good time we had.

We met some friends at the park, had some pizza, grapes and yummy pudding, got in some good play time for the kids... and some nice conversation for the moms. After lunch all the kids wanted to head over by the creek and wade around. They had a great time in the 5 inches or so of water. There were kids earlier in the day getting their senior pictures taken in some of these spots, and I think Avery must have seen them, cause she was all over posing for the pictures!! Too cute.

The newest addition to the family....

He's really calm and mellow, and so far has been a very good boy. The kids can't get enough of him, and are really taking to their new responsibilities. Hopefully this will last, although I know that it probably won't. It is definitely a good lesson on responsibility for them though.

He's a boxer pup that we got from Scott's brother who had a litter. They were all so cute, but Quinn and Scott got their favorite pick after assessing their personalities.

There was much discussion about the name. Quinn (since this is mainly his dog) really wanted to name him things like Peanut Butter or Oreo Face, or Brownie, but Mom and Dad had a say in it and after the ride home from up north last night, it was settled that his name would be Lennie. It suits his personality, and the kids like it because he's named after one of the Wonder Pets.

Saying Quinn is extremely excited is an understatement. He even slept downstairs with him last night next to his crate so that he wouldn't be lonely. I agreed to it, and I'm really glad we got him in the summer so that when we have to take him out in the middle of the night we're not freezing!

Happy Birthday to Ella and Andy today! The best 7yr old niece and cousin, and the best uncle and brother around!
