Once again I have been slacking on my posting. No excuses this time, just slacking.
Yesterday was a fun day, Avery had a field trip to the Lutz Farm/Orchard... a real working farm run by an 81yr old man and his 70 something yr old sister. We went last year with Quinns class, so this year we were a little more prepared for the mud and other fun stuff to step in. Grubby shoes were the order of the day. Quinn and Avery liked it for the most part (Kaleigh aka. Grouchy stayed home with Daddy and the house cleaners who were home working :) ). It was a little windy out, so Avery had a little trouble with that. We figured out that she is afraid that she is going to blow away. Something like the fear of going down the drain when the water is being let out of the tub. It seemed that as long as you were holding her hand she was better, although then she started worrying that Quinn was going to blow away. It did work in our favor though, when she was scared to go into the barn to see the calves, at first she didn't want to go in... the smell was pretty scary... but when the wind started blowing she figured it was better in the barn than out and she enjoyed seeing the animals once she got in.

Good that she verbalized what was wrong. Tell her there is no problem you can't fix! - see you tommorow!
You're no slackert. It's amazing that you find any time at all to sit and blog. I wonder if Avery has seen the Wizard of Oz.
Bugs and wind! Maybe it would help to tell her that the wind will blow the bugs away!
Dad came in and raved about the great time he had with Quinn last evening. Anything that involves Grampy, Quinn, and a tractor or two = FUN!
It certainly is farm time, isn't it. We went to a farm on Saturday, and then Drew had a field trip to a farm with his preschool class yesterday. Also, a friend brought me some apples she picked this weekend in upstate NY. Maybe I'll make an apple strudel!
I got a call from Averys teacher this morning at 8:30 saying she had a dream with the idea of putting rocks in Averys pockets to help her feel like she won't blow away. We'll try it!
Now that's a smart thinking (or dreaming) teacher!! I hope it works! And, if you make the rocks heavy enough she'll get some weight lifting in besides!
